Step 2: Update to this latest firmware using the iOS file you just downloaded via iTunes 9.2.

Step 3: Now start iTunes and sync your iphone
with your PC so that it backs-up all your important data including settings, apps, music, contacts and photos.

Step 4: Start Sn0wbreeze and select “Simple Mode”.(Download Links Below)

Step 5: Sn0wbreeze will now ask you to browse for your .ipsw file. Select the correct iOS 4 firmware .ipsw file by clicking the “Browse” button. Sn0wbreeze will verify the selected file and then will present you with following screen.

Step 6: Click on "Yes" when Sn0wbreeze asks you “Do you want to activate your iphone?” for hacktivation. Click on “No” only if you are on an officially supported carrier like AT&T.

Step 7: Sn0wbreeze will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iphone which will be jailbroken.

Step 8: Now you will have to restore your iphone to this custom firmware 4.0 that you just cooked using Sn0wbreeze for your iphone. Click on your phone from the sidebar in iTunes and then press and hold left “Shift” button on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update”) button in the iTunes and then release the “Shift” button.

This will make iTunes prompt you to select the location for your custom firmware 4.0. Select that custom .ipsw file and click on “Open”.

Step 9: Now sit back and enjoy as iTunes does the rest for you. This will involve a series of automated steps. Be patient at this stage and don’t do anything silly. Just wait while iTunes installs the new iOS 4 on your iphone. Your iphone screen at this point will be showing a progress bar indicating installation progress. After the installation is done, iphone will restart automatically and you should now have a fully jailbroken iphone running on iOS 4.

How to unlock iphone on iOS 4.0 (Any Baseband):

Once you are done with the jailbreak, you can now unlock your iphone 3GS and 3G on any baseband using ultrasn0w 0.93 from Cydia. To do this:

Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)/10.6 (Snow) Discuss & Install

This is for Mac ONLY, Not PC!

Few things before you start:

As I stated, this is not for PC. You cannot dual-boot with this version.
This isn't guarantee to work for everybody, so BACKUP EVERYTHING.

Install Snow Leopard via USB External/USB Flash Drive

Disk Utility
Flash Drive must be at at least 8GB (You will lose all the data on there, so back it up on your desktop for the time being)
External must have at least 8GB of free space

1. Open Disk Utility. On the left navigation, select your flash drive and click on the "Partition" tab:

2. Under "Volume Scheme," Select "1 Partiton":

3. Once selected, hit the "Option" button at the bottom of the map:

4. A window will pop-up, select the GUID option (the first one):

5. Once its done, navigate to the "Restore" tab:

6. With the Snow Leopard DMG present, drag the DMG to the "Source" field, and from the navigation on the left, drag your Flash Drive to the "Destination" field:

7. Click Restore, once its done, your Flash Drive contents to be similar to:

8. Close Disk Utility, Open up System Preferences. Under "System," choose "Startup Disk," Your flash drive should be listed as the Snow Leopard installation disk. Select and press "Restart":

9. Eat your milk.

he iphone DevTeam has been passed confidential internal information relating to the next version of the tablet computer the ‘iPad’. An upcoming redesign of the iPad tablet computer will miniaturize the device so that it will be able to be carried on the user’s person (such as a pocket or small bag). Also a radical move to add a minimum of a 13 kbits/s speech codec to the miniaturized tablet variant is planned.

The inclusion of the voice codec will allow the user to directly utilize the GSM nomadic network, allowing person to person communications directly using your mini-iPad from anywhere dramatically speeding up the usual typed email or instant messaging capabilities that the iPad offers today.

The video shows that the jailbreak provides a root shell with what appears to be full access to the iPad filesystem. The video walks shows connection to the iPad via ssh, exploration of the OS and kernel version information (uname), a view of running processes, moving applications out of the iPad's applications directory (and then restarting Springboard via the shell to show the results) and finally, rebooting the iPad via the jailbroken root shell.

Jailbreaking, while not illegal, gives a user the ability to install cracked and pirated apps, which is illegal. Jailbreaking, according to Apple, voids Apple's warranty on the device, although this is quickly remedied by restoring the device in iTunes.
